Economic Development Excellence

Economic Development Australia (EDA) held their annual National Conference between 4-6 October. Running in collaboration with the conference was the Economic Development Awards 2011, Australia’s national awards for recognising economic development excellence.

Whitehorse City Council is pleased to announce that they received a highly commended award in the category of Environmental Economic Innovation for the Tally Ho Waste Wise Hub group. This award recognises the achievements of the group and the benefit it makes to the business community.

The Tally Ho Waste Wise Hub group was officially established in 2006 and formed to bring together business in the Tally Ho Business Park, Burwood, with similar green initiatives and practices. Council facilitates the group to ensure its future existence and commitment to a greener future for the local business community. To date there are no other environmental groups within the municipality who exert the same leadership and initiative with regards to environmental and business sustainability.

Congratulations to the Tally Ho Waste Wise Hub group and all participating businesses.
