Business Facilitation Service

The Investment and Economic Development Unit have a business facilitation service to assist businesses through the process and direct specific enquiries to relevant departments.

Below are some things to consider regarding permits. If you answer yes to any of the following questions, you may need permits.  Further information can be found on

  •  Permits and Licences page on WBIZ which will provide information about Council permits
  •  Permits and Parcel page on the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning website which can provide information about the local government area, water businesses, power distributor, planning zones and overlays.

Investment Facilitation Service

Whitehorse City Council established the Investment and Development Facilitation Service to assist major investments in the City of Whitehorse.

This service is a ‘one stop shop’ for major investment projects which seeks to create an open, transparent process and improve the alignment between investment (private, government and institutional investment) and the community’s vision and aspirations for the City of Whitehorse.
