Supporting the Business Community

Whitehorse City Council is committed to providing support to local Small to Medium Enterprises (SME’s) and it acknowledges that many SME’s have experienced severe impacts from COVID-19, and that some have been affected since January 2020.

The objectives of the Whitehorse Business Grants Program are to support:

  • social and economic sustainability 
  • businesses growth and prosperity
  • local procurement and facilitating connections
  • appropriate business and employment opportunities
  • industry development
  • businesses to comply State Government guidelines in relation to COVID-19

Two funding streams were available for the business community, with both streams having an overarching focus on business adaption, innovation and resilience.

Applications are now open and close 5pm, Friday 22 October 2021.

Funding Streams: Innovation and Support

Businesses can only apply for one stream, and businesses who have successfully acquitted their funding in round 1 or round 2 are eligible to apply.

Desk Computer Study Workshops

Information Sessions

Businesses are strongly advised to attend one virtual information session on how to access and use the Smartygrants program, information about the two funding streams, the criteria and concluding with a Q&A. 

Grant Writing Workshops

Businesses are strongly encouraged to attend one virtual grant writing workshop with grant expert Debby Maziarz, who will: 

  • provide practical, useful and transferable information about how to approach grant writing;
  • encourage you to explore project ideas and clarify point of difference; and
  • provide practical, useful and transferable information about building budgets for grant applications

Q & A Sessions through Zoom with Interpreter

Q & A sessions are now available through ZOOM for businesses requiring either a Mandarin or Cantonese interpreter. 

These sessions will provide businesses an overview of the streams and objectives of the Whitehorse Business Grants Program Round 3, and the opportunity to ask questions with the assistance of an interpreter.
